The problem is knowing when you can't afford to do Hall stacking and need to go aggro. Frost spells help a lot, doing good damage while nerfing their dice is good. For quests n°5 and 6, you will have to improvise a bit, but you should have had time to learn how to play by then, so that it should be doable to build long and powerful mana-based combos.
